Here goes a quite detailed review:

Intro: 4.4 (a teaser to whats comin up)

Title and the plains: 4.8 - 5.0 (close to perfection)

Underground: 3.8 - 4.3 (Drops slightly in quality, but when compared to the plains, what music does'nt)

The castle: 4.2 - 4.5 (overall fine pieces that really suits the atmosphere and the slight increase in difficulty)

Water (last level): 4.1 - 4.8 (music is of quite uneven quality even within tunes ranging from just good to superb)

Game Over (when you die): 4.2 (far from as good as SOTB2 deathscene but still a fine piece)

argh!
nostagier attack! (or however you spell it)
must fix SX32, must -play SOTB!

haha!  Yep...  I have it installed on my 1200 that's hooked to the big TV in the front room.  :-)

I finally had to give up the SOTB wallpaper on my computer in here after a couple weeks, though.  I'd sit down to do some work, see the SOTB theme...  Get the title song stuck in my head, and then end up just going out there and playing it for too long.  ;-)

Oh yeah... The music is great, too.  4.8, at least.

Damn near perfection all the way around in that game.

It also had a death music and scene too.... but instead of the guitar it had this weird wind-sounding thing playing while it shows a barren landscape with some of your bones laying around. hehe!

I think it was my favorite of the three...  But all of them were great!

Around 4... and I would give a higher rating to its sequel.

Do you remember the music of a Dinamic/CreepSoft game called A.M.C.? I liked it a lot... The gameplay/graphics weren't special, but the music was quite good

IMHO the graphics were quite good, very colorful. And I agree, the music of AMC, especially the ingame tunes, was really great. I still remember some of these tunes after so many years :) I suggest to everyone here to go and listen them, probably they can be found on (un)exotica.

The title music in SOTB2 is just increadibly beautiful.. Overall the ingame music has too much drums and is not as atmospheric as SOTB1, but still very good.. Deathscene is just brilliant.

Very good music with some peaks that rises upto SOTB1 quality and sometimes even surpasses it (title and deathscene). Overall ranking is still not as good as SOTB1.

Hmm...  Shadow of the Beast 1?  Well I give the amiga version a 4 overall.  The TurboGrafx SuperCD version is a 4.75!  (The CD Remaster of the tunes is just amazing.  :-P )

For those that likes the SOTB type music. Check out Wrath of the demon, Unreal and Leander for more great audio of this kind.

Here!
Do not forget that each tune has 3-5 sub tunes. You need a player that can jump between sub tunes.

Ok, sorry thats not the MOD versions. They're in the David Whittaker format. If you use Windows use this player, on Amiga I'm not sure which is best DeliTracker, EaglePlayer, HippoPlayer or other. I do not think MOD versions exist of all these tunes and subtunes.
