RCS X-Calibur
« on: October 06, 2008, 01:34:31 AM »
I aquired an RCS X-Calibur Ram expansion for installation on an A3640 to be used in my A3000T. ...if it ever runs again, green screen problem. If I can't resolve the green screen on the A3000T, I am considering installing the A3640/X-Calibur combo into my A4000D. Although I really don't like the idea of removing the WarpEngine'40. The only scsi device attached to it is a ZIP drive.

Found the installation instructions for the hardware. It would appear that I also need to obtain a 66mhz and do some modification to the A3640. Upon close visual inspection of the X-Calibur I noticed that it looks like a pin on the bottom side of the X-Calibur has been "replaced" where there shouldn't be one, preventing the X-Calibur from being fit into the CPU socket of the A3640. Also a pin on one of the chips on the top side of the card is not inserted into the socket, however this looks consitant with the photo shown on Amiga Resource.

Anyone have any experience installing one of these units? Any other information would be most helpful.
