Whoo! Never even knew about this technology.  I had several Laserdisc players way back in the day, but I never heard of storing a movie on a 'vinyl record" type medium.

Searched Ebay and there are tons of these.  Raiders of the Lost Ark, Aliens, tons of old Classics on this format.  I'm pretty amazed.

Back in my day, we didn\'t have water. We only had Oxygen and Hydrogen, and we\'d just have to shove them together.

Glad you learned something ""new""  ;-)

I can easily get movie with Ebay, I already have some.
But a player, it's something else.
Last time I got a "direct buy" on a STJ-200, the seller refused to ship it outside the USA and I received a nice message "INV Alert: Unwelcome Buyer - eBay Information Notice- "...

Unfortunately, I threw away my 2 players and all my discs a few years ago. You would have been welcome to them.

I gave up on them when I started shopping for a replacement stylus cartridge.

When I checked they were very rare, although NOS ones existed at premium prices.

Sorry I cant help.

Actually. RCA had so much riding on it, that their catalogue even included sporting events BEFORE the age of VCRs.

I had a World Series disk.

Its a chuckle to remember the the one on display in the "teenage bedroom" exhibit at Disney/Space Mountain in the 70's with its own screen for watching Elton John videos. :)

The CED was cool technology. ULTRA heavy though for those with large collections! I was in an antique store recently where there were hundreds of disks and 1 RCA player. They wanted about $10 each for the movies and $200 for the machine if I remember correctly. I'd seriously doubt it was PAL compatible though. Next time I'm down that way, I'll take another look, get the model number, etc. It was great to see all the disks this guy had. Rows and rows of 'em, like a record store! I did not know they released *that* many of 'em.
