WB 3.1, these sooo should have been one topic, like "Amiga 2000 questions".

Also: I have an Amiga 2000 (sort of HD but it's not like on the sticker on the front or anything) right now it's got a couple extra megs of ram and a SCSI controller in it. Broken '040 board *sigh*.

I'm still using 2.1 on a toaster 2000. It doesn't need more that that for what it does really. BTW can I have the broken 040? :)

Amiga OS 3.9, but I'm looking forward to running 4.0 on my recently purchased Cyberstorm PPC woo hoo :-D

I have 3.9 BB2 installed on TRex 060 with 96mgs ram, Spectrum RTG, Commodore Etthernet, and GVP I/O it runs great is very fast for an Amiga 68xxx. I also have Amithlon running in a 1.2ghz this is really fast it benchmarks faster than any PPC/68xxx combo board.

To use OS 2.x and 3.x on an A500 or A2000 the kickstart rom chip must be replaced, or?

Yes. Some versions of the '2000 and '2500 came with Kickstart 2.04, but mostly they didn't, Kickstart 3.1 is always a replacement chip. However on '2000s greater than revision 4 it's pretty easy (line it up and slap it in)

I have 3.5, 3.1, 2.05, and 1.3 on bootable Hard Drive partitions . . . .
but 1.3 will not run on the 68060! Previously, had a 68030 Accellerator . . . . .

To use 1.3, the Kickboard (from Unitech Electronics) has to be switched to position 1, and key '0' (above O, P) held down while booting. Without n A2091 aboard, that would take a WB-floppy!

I use 1.3 on my 2000 mostly but when I want something different I load up the source to MS Windows XP into AmigaBASIC and let it interpret it
on the fly. Its quite a respectable speed but sometimes there are video gltches playing back divxs with Windows Media Player... :-D

Hi, I've got OS 2.1 running on my VideoToaster only because the progressive 040 that I've got won't work with OS 3.9 but I want to upgrade because there is a lot of newer software that won't run on the old roms/old OS . I've got a GVP 040 combo in another 2000 that I'de like to swap into the toaster as it holds more ram and the extra ports would also be nice to have on the Toaster, does anybody know if the GVP 040 combo works with OS3.9 & 3.1 roms ?and does the Toaster software like to run on OS 3.9 ? and where would I find 4x16 meg GVP Simms ? And can anybody tell me if 3.9 will run at acceptable speeds on an 040 with 64 megs of ram ? I did run 3.9 on a 2000 with an 030 but it was way to slow to be usable. Thanx  T.   :-)

Still using WB2.1, no need for anything better...err newer, I only play games on it.
