A500 with a Commodore 1902A monitor?
« on: October 03, 2008, 01:13:50 AM »
Hi guys!

This is likely to be my first post of many around here...

Anyway, I just received a nice A500 package that I found on eBay, complete with a mouse, joystick, lots of games (more than 70 floppies!), and cables.  I currently have a C128 that I've been playing with, and to go with it, a C1902A monitor.  One of the cables that came with the A500 is an RBG video to round DIN connector (it looks like a 25-pin serial or parallel cable on one end, and a more normal round Commodore video connector on the other).  However, with that cable connected to the A500 and the 1902A (the round end is plugged into the "2" hole on the screen), I can't get a picture.  Using the B/W "mono" output works fine, though - just without that glorious, glorious color that the Amiga was known for.

Any tips?  Google was especially unhelpful on this one...

Thanks in advance,

Huxley

I think the 1902, which was designed for the C128 and released prior to the Amiga, can't sync to the Amiga's output.

The standard of the day when the 1902 was released was CGA PC graphics.  Perhaps you can find someone to swap for a 1080 monitor.

Maybe because nobody sent information about the 1902 to TBBoAH?

The 1901 sounds to be the a slightly earlier revision, check it out.

No colour, huh? Hook an A520 to the RGB port and hook the composite out to the respective input into the monitor.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.
