Maybe he just wants it to work perfectly?

Anyway. Try replacing the LED, maybe you broke it (not likely, but hey). You could try swapping the PCBs over, unless of course that was what was wrong with the original drive.

As DoomMaster said, on the new FloppyDrive PCB, isn't intalled the SMD resistor that pull the power to the led.

Misure the voltage on one of the two pads on PCB that carries the power (maybe 5 volt).

Install a 330 Ohm 1/8 watt and then test the output voltage that should be near 3 volts.

Now solder the LED in the right way (leds are polaryzed).

Ciao

I have both a2k and a1200 and a500,  a1200 out performs them both, even though when the a2k was alive it had lots of toys.

You forgot one important diference. The video slot. Try a toaster/flyer in a 500 or 1200. What else does the Amiga still compete with the PC at?

Actually several of the Zorro expanders for the A1200 have an AGA inline video slot on them as well so in theory you should be able to run a Toaster 4000 no problem.  I only say in theory cause I don't know anyone who's done it, but I do know that they are toaster 2000 compatible at least.

Wain is right...the RBM adapter definately
allows use of the Toaster 4000 on the 1200, and
I'm sure there are probably others.

*cough* G-rex A4000T *cough*

I meant properly fitting..

The tower version bolts on top of the ISA slots, so you need to install extenders on the Zorro cards in order to plug them in, and also screw in an extender to the card brackets in order to fasten the screws to keep the cards in place.

Ugly. No thanks.
