But when it is really limited to 128mb, where do the 8mb of the CV-PPC map to ?

On CPU-card itself you dont have such limitations... CPU itself can always address up to 4GB. In this case 8MB of the CVPPC is 'unreachable' for the rest of system.

(I think.. never cared that much of HW details...)

Hmmmmmm

[troll-alarm]

Wasn't I told by all those "boings" that OS4 is in beta for well over 1 year now, while it
only runs on PPC for a few months (and thats was still in emu ) ????

Sligthly confused  :-?

[/troll-alarm]

 :-D  :-P  ;-)
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

@itix

Just like the RAM (except maybe the 1st 8mb) on an accel for A2000/500 or A1200,
as these only have 24 address-lines on the CPU-slot.

Of course. Hyperion has finally realised that the 68060 is vastly superior to any other CPU on the market, so they have re-written OS4 to run on it. Silly me, how could I forget? :-D

I happen to be one of the guys helping out in the programing of the new OS 4.0.  This is how I know that OS 4.0 SUCKS!  But, I did manage to create a special version of OS 4.0 thats runs flawlessly on my Amiga 2000HD professional computer.   :-D

Well I can see I will have to recode OS4 and get rid of the bloat. If it won't run on my cdtv what good is it? :-P

I have b0rked GVP G-Force '040, anyone think they can help?

Also, anyone know a cheap place to pick up a C= monitor/multisyncer/SD-FF/A520?

no more coffee for that man!

erm, back to subject.
when i had my A500, got a 2Mb chip ram expansion for it, and an M-tec 28Mhz 020 accelerator (+8Mb fast) for it that bolted onto the 68000 socket. unfortunatly, i never fitted the accelerator, as the chip ram / agnus socket got in the way. was looking around for one of those IDE interfaces that bolted onto the 68000 socket to raise the accelerator above the 2Mb agnus.

this with an A570, 3.1 rom, ECS denise. any thoughts on problems? bit concerned as not sure how it'd all work together...

oh btw, how about a PPC accelerator that fitted the 68040/060 socket like the cyberstorm PPC developer board... then all 040 equiped A500/1000/2000's could be PPC based....?

A500, A600, A1200x3, A2000, A3000, A4000 & a CD32.
and probably just like the rest of you, crates full of related "treasure" for the above XD
