Commodore At PC World? WTH?

Not only that , there selling the 'Commodore XX' at PC world, (uk), in time for xmas!! What the hell is going on??? Just been on there website, I thought it was a joke when i see on IGN.COM that they want to make a range of Amiga Power PC's ??

commodore gaming have been selling their goods for a while now both here and there, what's new with that? now about the same company (did you mean commodore gaming?) making ppc computers i have never heard of, ign.com link? their search function is down atm.

No, but go to commodore gaming, then go to 'where to buy' , click on PC world, and itl take you there, its not there at first, so do a search on commodore.

they've sold their gaming pc's at online retailers in europe and some other places, and they have attended shows and had their machines as prizes in gaming competitions.
they also have a few other hardware thingies for sale like the commodore gravel and the e-vic. search for it if you want more info.

the company that wanted to make ppc computers was amiga inc and eyetech, while the operating system was made by hyperion.
right now hyperion are still developing amiga os4 and ppc hardware is made by acube of italy. sarch for acube sam440.

Hyperion, Isnt there, or was, a court case at present with them?Thanks, didnt mean to get excited, but seeing commodore up in lights doing well was unexpected to say the least. Sorry if i sound a bit dumb to all this, but my eyes rarley leave the depths of my A500.lol :-)

they are all long stories, you can look them up by searching here in the forums or use google, but yes Hyperion is in a court case with Amiga Inc. (which now a days owns most of the Amiga trademarks etc.). Amiga Inc. outsourced the making of a new amiga os in about 2001, which was to acompany their new ppc hardware from Eyetech, the AmigaOne. It took years to "finish" and Amiga Inc. wasn't happy about the delay and the resulting product. Hyperion says they didn't get enough paid etc etc.
Now they are in a court case, Amiga Inc. doesn't seem to care about the amiga scene anymore and, and Hyperion is selling the os by themselves, for classic ppc amigas and just now with the ppc board from Acube called the Sam440.


Commodore Gaming is just a pretty small european company that tries to sell gaming pc's and some other stuff with the Commodore name and logo on it for profit, little or no commodore spirit is in their products anyway.

Thanks for that, i have an understanding now, ive had a browse on commodore gaming and they have the usual history of commodore and amiga with some pics of amigas, i know what you mean, i dont think they will capture the spirit of the the old days and i take it hyperion have no interest in commodore gaming?.Ive noticed that the site is using more commodore logos than the commodore gaming logo since the consumer show in vegas, i heard they they run into financial difficulties a while back, but seem to be doing ok, good reviews from sites and mags, do you think they will take off in a big way?? :-?
