I also found Microsoft's new marketing strategy confusing and uninspired... Perhaps they could have spent that $300,000,000 on making Vista better... Though I guess M$ have proven over and over again that they can't solve problems by throwing money at them...

They must have found the only ~20 people in the world who are actually *passionate* about the PC for those commercials.

Great comic, by the way. :-)

Best quote from the "I'm a PC" commercials:

"I'm a PC and I make people bleed."

So are these commercials made by Apple?

they started a bunch of really BAD commercials on american TV about the personal computer.

it's supossed to be an answer to the MAC ads that were successful last year ("I'm a PC...and I'm a MAC" with two guy representing each.)

the new PC ads are trying to suggest that PC users are not all nerds or boring and stupid, but they miss the point that the OS itself is what is stupid and boring.

the people are just stuck using it

i think the commercials are ok, not as witty or original as the mac ones they lampoon but not bad. the ones with gates and seinfeld are pretty funny but dont really make much of a point, other than that gates is out of touch.

the commercials with windows "mojave" could be interesting if they would who what they are talking about. they basically just say that we are using windows wrong and if we used it right we would all see how perfect it is... or something like that.
Oh yeah?!?
Well your stupid bit is set,

Apple's ads were indeed confusing and unclear.

Microsoft's ads made a perfectly valid point. Whether or not Apple were referring to the users or the machines is beside the point - they were still portraying Macs as "hip trendy" machines, and PCs as "boring business machines".

Which might have made sense about 15 years ago - Commodore would have done well to run an advert like Apple's, back then - but as always, Apple are about 15 years behind the times, and now the idea is laughable. As Microsoft points out, PCs are everywhere, and used for all sorts of things, by all sorts of people.

I'm not sure what I find more absurd: 15 years ago, the Mac and PC users who looked down upon Amiga users because they viewed their machines as "serious business machines" and Amigas as "machines for having fun", or now, the Mac users who look down upon PC users because they view their machines as "machines for having fun" and PCs as "serious business machines"...
