Clean MorphOs Install - now what? :)
« on: September 20, 2008, 06:09:06 PM »
Okay, I've installed MorphOS on my efika.

And I've found Czech PowerPC UG page

Which other pages do I need, and which Software, games and demos is a must to try out?

Cheers

(Posting from sputinik)

Okay, experiences so far:

1) I really like it.
2) It's hard to like :) Runs fast out of memory, and when it does it drops mouse
3) I can't play openArena on it because it doesn't have enough memory
4) Open TTD works, but trying to go fullscreen opens it upside down? Anyone, can it be helped?
5) VLC plays WMV files really slowly, but MPEG4 fast...
6) Sputnik needs more GUI :D hehe, and to eat less RAM

All over, my Amiga love forgives all this and I will buy it as soon as I can $$-wise.

I want however to play with more software.

And also, is there "An Amigans Guide to MOS"? Because I don't know what MOS-Best-Practice is. Do I install into MOS:Libs or LIBS: which is empty? How to behave on MOS :)

Tried tweaking *megs value in q3config.cfg? It's possible to run plain q3 on efika.

Using an older powersdl.library (11.8 or so) should fix that. Latest versions have some issues with fullscreen mode for some reason.

Mplayer would run at least 35% faster (/advertisement :) ).

About MorphOS, don't touch sys:morphos (mossys:) unless you are forced too. All 3rd party software should go to sys:.
