ID An A2000 GVP 040 Accelerator?
« on: September 10, 2008, 04:15:45 PM »
I am trying to ID as to the speed a GVP 040 accelerator.  How can I tell by looking at it if it is 25, 33, or 40 Mhz?  I don't have a 2000 running right now to find out that way.

Dan

just look at the crystal next to the 68040. You have to double the speedrating that is printed on it to get the actual speed of the card. (eg 16.5 MHz crystal -> 33 MHz card)
Not really interesting, but it`s there.

I would look at the crystal oscillator on the board. on the a2000 040 combo, it is 1/2 the clock speed. I believe that all of the boards are 33mhz.

Thank you Lemmink!  It is a 33Mhz.
