Google Chrome browser/ open source Chromium
« on: September 03, 2008, 12:47:15 AM »
Hello all, just heard about Googles  Chrome browser, and it turns out they have an Open Source arrangement. Now for the obvious pipe dream: Anbody (who's coding skill is better than mine) think an AOS3.x/4.x port could be possible? I'm using Chrome to post this msg, its actually quite nice.

Why not, after all it also uses webkit, as used in the most advanced Am*ga OS's browsers such Sputnik, OWB, Traveller...

Yea, I've been using it for quite a few hours now and it SEEMS to be faster. I've run into one problem though and I'm not sure if that is my problem or the browser's. I can't get it to work with Java Applets. I'll do some more investigation on that shortly but... man, those terms leave a lot of questions...

Ok... figured out the Java thing. You have to be using the very LATEST version of Java... the beta in fact... version 6 RC 10! Once I installed that, Java worked just fine.

I don't like Chrome, fidgity non system conformant interface. That said, Firefox is fast becoming obese.
