The second comment on that page:

A scary thing happened to me recently: I was digging around in the Amiga emulator forums and such, and unearthed a subculture of people that still believe the Amiga is on the cusp of breaking out again, just "this close" to being the dominant computer.

It was like running across one of those flat earth web sites, or the "universe rotates around the earth" pages. Just put your hands up and back away slowly. Don't make any sudden moves that could be misinterpreted as aggression.

that article says:
Mine shall be used solely for running old Amiga games, and listening to old chiptunes. At some point, the essential horror of emulating a Commodore, on an "IBM" with the Commodore name on it, will set in. Then there will be tears.

You know he's old school because of the IBM reference. It's in quotes to show you how people used to talk.

It would be a big seller if the Commodore logo on the lid glowed like the Apple logo on Powerbooks/Macbooks

I dunno.  How bad would it be to have a little spare cash, about US$600, to plop on modern hardware instead of old hardware of questionable reliability, then run Amiga Forever or AmiThlon, or AROS, or what have you, if that's what you want to do?

I can see loading this thing up with all sorts of emulators: Amiga, C64/128/etc (VICE,) TI-99/4A, Atari ST, Genesis, and so on.  The specs would seem to easily support that.

Yeah, it is interesting how many people out there truly believe that the Amiga is just a hair-trigger away from taking over the world.  Makes me wanna cry: that there are people who still believe that, and that it will never happen ;-)

@spihunter

You see it. It’s easy like that.

That’s why the brand of Amiga is feared. It’s like a dormant Ebola virus. If it breaks out with a pc, mac level model they know it is extremely dangerous.

There will be much of this racket in forums produced by the opposite market divisions to stop this from happening. :-)

It states:

Available in four colours; white, black, grey and sweet pink prices for the laptop start, considering its offering, at a staggering £325.

The UMMD 8010/F will be available later in the month a spokesperson told Pocket-lint.

None of them seems very impressed with the stats...
A posting a day keeps the sanity away...

You see. Mistake. A new Amiga must have great specs, not mediocre. It must render reviews like "this is a great machine". But the brand will probably carry this laptop a long way any way. :-)

Not in the last ~12 years. Via bought out Cyrix iirc, Cyrix back in the day were always terribly underwhelming. Pathetic to be more precise. I doubt things have changed much.
