I couldn't care less about SharkPPC anymore. I want to run next generation OS'es on completely new hardware instead of kludgy hacked up classic Amiga.

And my MediatorZIV on my a1200 does what it's supposed to do. I got cheap and fast graphics card to replace dog slow Zorro2 gfx-card I had earlier. I got cheap network card, which is way faster than any Zorro-NIC I've tried. And TV-card cheaply too. And I don't think my Spider2 was that expensive... OK, same hardware could be little cheaper from PC shop, but it was still much more affordable than any other USB solution for my Amiga. It didn't kill me to pay it when I aldready had Mediator setup. I'd probably be without any USB on my Amiga if it wouldn't be there.

I don't like Elbox's attitude always etc, but thing would be much worse with classic Amigas without them. And there's always been vapourware everywhere. Shouldn't you, as amigans, have already learnt that don't expect anything to really come until you actually hold it? There's hundreds of similar things which never appeared. Don't get too passionate until they're really selling. In any case Elbox has given more life for classic Amigas with real products and I really don't want them to quit, even if some things could change :) BTW. where would you buy PCI-bus nowadays if not from Elbox? I'm sure most of the people are wise enough not to buy it now just for the SharkPPC.

Only reason why this kind of topic appear is that people are impatient. In "Amiga world" we need to wait, sometimes years.

I remember the time when Mediator was announced for the first time...

People were writing that photos submitted by Elbox to "painted pictures", the same was with FastATA...that this is not true etc. "Hellooooo" ;). Hands up who is using Mediator and FastATA? And can buy them TODAY.

Where is G-rex, Prometheus, Zorro II/III for A1200. A4000 are VERY rare and expensive. A1200 are everywhere even today.

BTW. Voodoo on Elbox web site is expensive (other PC stuff to). Go to Amigakit.com and see how "cheap" is it? Why?

Because you pay for your impatience and for this that this Voodoo from their shop will work 100% with Mediator. I bought on Ebay (Elbox support SHOWED me the auction with Voodoo!! yes it's true) for like $17.

I'm done. This topics are completely non productive. It's like a spam or trolling. No reply.

i use the mediator 1200sx and a fast ata since they were first made  :-)

and if it wasnt for elbox making them, then i would not have a fast ethernet card or a voodoo3 card or a sound card
nor would i be able to have dvd + cd+rw`s ata drives etc
so i applaude elbox for producing these products
to a limited market.

thats my 2ps worth

Ostensibly they're still waiting for the final A1-Os4-version to become available on CD in the stores...

Yeah right! Not. They announced something they could never deliver and fortunately the delays on AOS4 helped cover it up.

Stopping buying is not much of an encouragement to a company to continue working for a certain niche in the market. Sure, we all (well, most of us I guess) would have loved to be able to buy a new PPC board to enable the Amiga to run OS4.x and quite a number would have loved to be able to buy a quick 68k accelerator board... And yes, there have been promises like 'next summer' 'next winter' or 'next x-mass' goods will be available, and many summers, winters, x-masses have passed, it still is a weird 'option' to decide to buy nothing at all just to 'punish' them.

So if you're in need of a product that IS available from Elbox then I don't see why one should not buy that product.
Get a SAM, while you can! The new AMIGA is here!

I don't think stopping buying from Elbox would exactly encourage them to relase new products, do you?

To (mis)quote a famous American comdian, "That's the most ridiculous thing I ever heard".

Granted, their customer liaison is not the best, but they ship products quickly and they do exactly what it says on the tin.

It's also a cost effective (for Amiga anyway) way to get decent graphics from amiga. Have you seen true colour photos on Workbench?

Write to tehm and complain, by all means. But to raise a petition for everyone to stop buying? Don't hold your breath!

Sorry but i disagree with the tease and promise marketing solution. So many times has the shark/sonnet ppc card been discussed and argued due to it sitting on there site. I could understand it a bit if they had lots of competition but not when they own the market pretty much, there is just no need for it. There other products are fine i agree.

Now im off to put out adverts for a cure for HIV in 2010 if you buy asprin today.............bad example but you get me?
A1200/PPC 240/040 25
Power Flyer or Fast ATA using CF drive
Mediator 1200
Voodoo 3
Soundblaster
Ethernet
tv card
Gotek usb drive
Kywalda board
all in a power tower OS 3.9 AND 4.0. :-D

No. It is rather impossible.

There is no sense to still use 68040 or 60 processor in the Dragon
system. The Coldfire processor, which will be installed in the production
version  of the Dragon board will be much faster than 68060.

We do our best to release Shark boards this year.

Running OS4 for Classic on any system, which does not contain the Amiga
classic motherboard is afaik not covered by the license agreement between
Hyperion and Amiga Inc.
