Sale or Trade: A4000D for parts
« on: August 11, 2008, 09:34:46 PM »
Well, I am giving up on my 4000D for now.  It refuses to recognize any Zorro cards.  Physically it's in fantastic condition, no yellowing and even has the protective plastic over the badge.  I have removed the 040 processor and put it in my 3000D.  Other than the Zorro issue, it runs fine once you get a processor in it.  It did have some very minor battery leakage, but nothing bad at all.  Is fully populated with RAM, floppy drive and 3.1 kick.

I'm looking to get my 3000 some upgrades, hoping for a Buddha IDE card and a Subway card for it.  Not sure on a cash price, but am open to offers.

I can get pics probably tomorrow for those who are interested.

Thanks all!

The A3000's SCSI is far superior to IDE & doesn't suffer from CPU loading when accessing the hard drives.

The IDE controller will hit the CPU hard when accessing the hard drives.

A4000D's had IDE fitted instead of SCSI just because IDE was a cheaper solution.

So it's a CPU-less model w/ issues, are you removing the zorro cards and drives?

How much as you seeking?  (I have an A4k mobo + CPU but nothing to do with them, so curious)

I wouldn't mind the white casing, how much would P+P be to the UK?

I'll have pics this afternoon and respond to the PMs.  Sorry for the delay, finally found my camera.  I'd like to keep this all together if at all possible.  It wont have any Zorro cards in it and no hard drive.

Thanks all!

This might be a good thing for someone like me who wants to run demos :-)  I've already got a 3000 with a graphics card, which I seldom use, but want an AGA Amiga of some kind to run demos on.  Then all I need is a 'cheap' 060 and some RAM and it's Haujobb time!

I should have a few bucks together again in a week or two.

Exactly what I was thinking.  But since I already have a 1200 that suits my AGA needs, thought I'd put this up for you all.  I'm out of shelf space anyways

I have the pictures ready to go, but Godaddy seems to be moving servers and I'm on the list for today so I cant upload pics till they finish.

Well, I give up on Godaddy fixing my account, so I threw them up on Flickr.

HERE

There are 6 pictures.  Remember, there is no processor included.  Also some Hyper NeoGeo pics on there for those who are interested :)

If anyone is still interested in this after they see the pictures, shoot me another PM.  If I could get at least $150 for it, I'd be happy.  Or if anyone has a Subway adapter I'd be more interested.  I'm really looking for a trade more than anything.

Thanks all, and sorry for the delay.  I should be back later this evening to answer anymore questions.
