Anyone need any classic Amiga chips?
« on: August 10, 2008, 07:23:48 PM »
A friend who used to work for Commodore, GVP, and Quikpak gave me a ton of chips a year ago and I've advertised them on Amigaworld with little success.

Anyone want to buy them for basically the cost of shipping?

Here's what I have, and ONLY what I have (he gave them all to me):

Fat Gary
Paula
Lisa

Check your private mail. How many chips are you talking about? Dozens, hundreds, a thousand?

I would be interested in:

318069-10 (PAL 8375 Agnus)
390563-04 (Super DMAC)
390541-07 (Ramsey)
390538-03 (Amber)
390539-11 (Buster)

If you have any of these PM me.

Edit: Ah, never mind, you've only got "normal" chips that rarely go wrong and never need upgrading :-)

That is a lot of Amiga ICs.
With that many available, it would be nice to pass them out in  smaller batches to the interested parties ...

Just out of interest. What are you lot going to do with those chips??

Fat Gary = A4000
Paula = A600 & A1200 & A4000 (If they are PLCC)
Lisa = A4000 & A1200

I've never known any of those 3 chips require replacing on an Amiga. Also they are all SMT (surface mount technology) chips not socketed which makes them difficult to replace.

I'm just curious what you're gonna do with them :-)

Actually, I have a A1200 that needs repair; and I have some SMD hot air equipment. Thus, I was hoping to get at least a few parts to repair my A1200 ....

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! :-o  :-o  :-D

Use a Pentium for that. You can find tons of useless Pentium.
These chips are rare. Now we have a stock of them
