Hello,
I looked around quite a bit before posting this, so here goes...
What network interface cards are available (past / present) so that I can network an Amiga 2000 to a Windows XP PC? Ideas where I could "land" one?
I'd prefer of course that the network connector be the current standard Ethernet connector or at least be adaptable to that (from BNC?). Yes, I realize that files themselves may not be directly "runnable" via software on a Windows PC. BUT, I plan to convert files to "PC friendly" ON the Amiga first (where possible) and then transfer them over the network to the PC.
If you feel that I could run unconverted files on a PC that is running an Amiga emulator, I'd be more than happy to hear how to do that. That I'm guessing would be more difficult since I'd need THE specific program(s) to be able to run in the emulator on the PC... What I have seen of emulators makes me conclude that this may not be the best path.
I'm mainly looking to be able to transfer text / word-processing, spreadsheet, picture, and sound files from my Amiga for use on the PC with standard Windows based software. Even if I have to import and adapt certain files, that's fine... just trying to recover as much useful data as possible from my (and my Dad's) old Amiga floppies and hard drives.
Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
Carl
