Hello, form Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
« on: August 04, 2008, 06:58:33 PM »
Hi all,
My name is Glen, and I am a new Amiga user form Canada. During the '80's I always wanted an Amiga but was stuck with the TRS-80 CoCo (I look at the Amiga as the next logical step up from the CoCo) I am a huge Vintage computer buff, and I used to run a website on the CoCo, but have since got out of the hobby. Recently, I was giving a A1000 and an A500 (just odds and ends) and a ton of floppies (literally almost 1000) the sad thing is the A1000 needs a new power supply and the A500 needs a A520 or all i can get is B&W  :-x
So, here I am, learning , watching on Ebay and such for some really good deals looking for everything. I have started up a "computer recycling" program at my shop and put adds out for Amiga hardware, so hopefully I can get half-way up and running soon.I am getting a P/S soon from the Software hut (I think) and hopefully that will get it back up and running. The A1000 has been modded heavily with at least 3 extra megs of ram and a MC68010 CPU.
The A500 is just stock, but both units are yellowed so bad, I am having them professionally painted, so they look half decent. You can see some pictures on my Blog (i won't link to it here, but you can always PM me for the Link)

Thanks Amigakit,
Don't worry, I have got my eyes on your site, (and a whole shopping cart full), I just have to really muster up some cash.  :-D  I really want a 1200 lol.
Unfortunately, The Amiga is not a "Cheap" hobby to get into (unlike the CoCo). :lol:

There's still an active Amiga User Group in Edmonton. You might want to check them out..... if you haven't already.

Welcome Quarkx,

  I live in Leduc (just south of Edmonton).  I have an A1200 in an Ateo Tower that I'm not using.  It has a Pixel64 graphics card and an Ateo network card, however it's lacking an accelerator to really make it useful.  My wife's been bugging me to get rid of it. If you're interested PM me, otherwise I'm probably going to sell it on eBay one of these days.

@mpiva
perhaps you should put an empty post in the wither natami thread as your signature seems perfect to end the argument over what is and is not an amiga.
