OS4 Classic Boot Problem :(
« on: August 03, 2008, 07:51:04 PM »
hey all - finally managed to get OS 4 Classic installed on my A1200 with BlizzardPPC / BVisionPPC with 48mb RAM

Problem is - it only boots from the hard drive after I soft reset it after the installation CD has loaded (when OS4 kernel is in the flash memory)

When I cold reset, it goes back to 3.0 boot screen asking for a floppy. If I tell it to boot from the HD0 using the Early Start Menu, it tells me that HD0 is not a dos disk?!

I've configured and formatted it as a DOS/3 partition with long filenames ticked during the OS4 installation, and it has boot priorty 0 and is set as bootable!? Does it need to be a specific file system for it to boot correctly?

Why won't it boot!?!?! argh, its driving me nuts! Surely you don't have to boot up in to the installation CD every time and soft reset to get it to boot from the HD? Do I need the kickflash 4.0?

Cheers guys! Really can't wait to get this sorted
