Transfer data between Amiga and Mac

I am looking for the best way to move data and programs between my Mac and Amiga 3000T.

For example in need to access the install software for my 64/3D card which I downloaded on my Mac as my Amiga is not on-line.

Conversely, I want to put DPaint etc on my Mac running E-UAE.

I am installing a Deneb USB controller in the 3000T.

Memory sticks seems like the way or USB external floppy drive for the Mac?
What about formatting?

 IIRC, WB 2.1+ have the CrossMac alongside with the CrossDOS utility.

 If not, try Aminet.

 I'm sure there is not a single "Amiga floppy reader" for Mac. And Amiga have only DD Mac reader...

Burn to a CD would be easiest way I think.

Assuming you're running OS X on your Mac and have a network card in your Amiga, enable Windows Sharing in System Preferences then use SMBFS to mount your Mac's shared folder on the Amiga. Otherwise, use a USB memory stick formatted as FAT and use FAT95 on the Amiga. Formatting the memory stick on the Mac will work (go in to Disk Utility and change the format to FAT before erasing).

USB Thumb drives / memorysticks are the way to go.

They are FAT formatted so will work on the MAC / PC / Linux box - you can then copy files to them, unplug and plug into the DENEB USB and the USB flash drive appears as an icon on Workbench.  Double click on the icon and you can read/write all your files- just like a regular floppy drive.

A fast and easy way of getting data from the MAC to your A3000T

Pretty expensive way too!  Those cards are not cheap, $232AU for a basic USB card doesn't sound like fun!

The DENEB is a multifunctional card - the price includes:

- USB 2.0 expansion
- flash ROM expansion
- full license for Poseidon 4

USB is the way to go no matter what! its not just so he can transfer his files.......it will open up a new door of tons of hardware for his A3000!

USB is the best possible investment one can possibly do today for their Amiga..........You can have all kinds of USB mice and wireless mice.......drawing tablets, Powerpoint presenters for SCALA, Thumb drives, wireless cards, CompactFlash adaptors, USB fans, Toys....etc.....


Get USB! ts worth the price, because of all the years you could have had hardware!  don't waste 10 more years of Amiga fun waiting for prices to drop.

That's exactly what I was hoping to hear.   :-D

So very cool.

Like you say it not only solves my data transfer issue but opens up a world of peripherals to use with the Miggy.

I'm placing the order now.

just allow ftp access on your Mac and use
AmiTradeCenter..

It works and it's fast, that's what I do...

A network solution is the X-Surf Card which is supplied exclusively with EasyNet

EasyNet allows you to easily network your Amiga and link to PC / Mac - you can access shares on your Amiga Workbench and read/write files to them

Now you can view and control other computers remotely from your Amiga Workbench
