Anyone ever beat Cannon Fodder

At the moment i can´t believe anyone can get past Mission 8

Has anyone beat this game ? if so how many missions are there ? and when do you get to the Tanx and Choppas ?

24 missions, and each mission is further divided up into 1-6 "phases"

Go to the save game option, then the game requests a name type
"JOOLS".  Cheat mode active will flash at the bottom of the screen
and the ranks and abilities of your men will have increased.

From memory (long time ago now) that's where I got stuck too.

It's been too many years to remember the details, but I did finish it. I recall some of the missions were insanely hard and it took me many many many tries to complete them. Cannon Fodder was probably my most favorite game on Amiga. Total Anihillation on the PC was similar to Cannon Fodder in play and strategy and was also my favorite title on the PC..... before I played Half Life. :-)

Cheats never prosper but it will allow Arion bit of leeway when trying to beat Level 8  :-)

I came close, but never beat Canon Fodder. (it's the mouse' fault) I don't believe in using cheats - takes the fun out of the game.
I also liked Chaos Engine. Torn between the two.

I finished CF 1 and 2. In CF 1 in mission 8 phase 2 (if I recall correctly) it gets really hard. It's the mission where you need to get to the gun in the middle island and you can't destroy the bunkers with normal rockets and grenades. If you beat that one you beat one of the most difficult missions in the whole game.

Later it gets more easy with choppers you can fly and other cool stuff. There are some more difficult missions after mission 8but not that many.

I never really cared for cannon fodder... I never manage to get more than an hour put of it before the bordom began to hurt! Megalomania though had me hooked, there was a game I wanted a sequal to.

-edit- I guess running around killing people doesn't appeal to me... But heavily mechanized, ruthless, systematic destruction of entire civilizations does!  :lol: Who would have figured that? ;-)

I´ve been stuck on phase 2 of mission 8 the placement of the bazooka soldiers is just evil  as soon as you start the mission you get shot if you don´t move immediately.

At least now i have some clue on how to finish it and in worst case i´ll try the cheat

Ive completed it.
Cant remember which Mission 8 was but I do remember it as a bad one.

i didn't use cheats either though I was offered a saves disk with all the levels on.

In some of the levels someone starts saying "giz 10p mate"

Which is the mission set in the arctic and one of the phases you have 1 guy mostly water and you have to swim to the land to kill the bad guys. That one made me cry

I have , its hard, but with help in the end!

If you save a game using jools or joolsa as  a filename, a phrase will be presented saying saying cheat mode active.All the ranks of your men wiil become increased!

Theres loads of cheats, but it takes the fun out of it!!And i cant remember them all!
