Games and applications are running fine. Not sure what exactly is causing your system's bad behavior. I'm sure the MOS team is still finding bugs and solving them as fast as they can.

Are you saying that your Efika is running stable with MorphOS 2.0?

If so please put your full specs here so maybe me and the other folks having stability issues can start troubleshooting a bit?

I've seen reports here and there of it running stable but nobody seems to have an answer to why everyone else is having such issues.

@spihunter

Efika System Configuration:

MorphOS 2.0 with License Key

Gigabyte ATI Radeon 9250
Mfr Part Number: GV-R925128DE
Chipset: ATI Radeon 9250
Memory: 128 MB
Memory Bus: 64 Bit
BUS: AGP 8X
Memory Type: DDR 16Mx16
D-SUB: Yes
TV-OUT: Yes
DVI Port: Yes

Hitachi Travelstar 2.5in 5K160 60GB ATA Hard Drive (5400rpm)
Mfr Part Number: HTS541660J9AT00 0A28416 (Partition off into 3 equal sizes HD:0, HD:1, HD:2)(Boot.img resides on HD:0)

4-Port USB 2.0 Mini Hub Bus Power (Inserted at the botton USB port on the Efika; Top USB port is left open for any Flash drive use)

A4Tech KL-5 2-Tone 88 Normal Keys 7 Function Keys USB + PS/2 Mini X-Slim Keyboard (Keyboard USB is inserted first in the USB hub)

IOGEAR GME222A 2-Tone 3 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB Wired Optical 800 dpi Mini Mouse (Mouse USB is inserted second behind the keyboard in the USB hub)

Known issues:  Loading the 3d command has caused freeze ups during normal use(moving a window around).  Running Sputnik (browser) and clicking on a link within a page while the page is still downloading has caused MOS2.0 to freeze up.:madashell:

Cures:  Avoid using the 3d command at boot, and wait for Sputnik to complete loading page before moving to another link.:-?

I hope this helps.  For the most part I'm still into my beta testing of MOS2.0, but I have had good results from just "regular" use (i.e. opening programs, playing the games, surfing the WWW).

I do have a second Efika, Gigabyte 9250, and Hitachi Drive still in their packaging if any one is interested.  Will sell at cost($225) + shipping.

@zyphoid

Try the safe boot.  It escapes me at the moment the script, but it should allow you to boot into MOS2 with basic screen mode.  Then you should be able to change your settings.

oops! i'll try that! :idea:

Thanks!! that was it. how do i save this setting? this is lovely now... i owe you man!! :crazy:

edit: yea, it gives me a 1024x768x60Hz.  This resolution gives the entire screen, and works for me.  How do i save it.  i tried getting back to monitor settings, but not getting the option to do that any last advice?

OK try this. Go to system settings, and monitors. If 1024x768 is not in the list then you will have to add it. First choose your monitor, or if you don't know exactly which one to use then go with 48KHz because that should give you 1024x768x60hz. Then add a mode, and pick 1024x768 from the drop-down list. Save the settings and reboot.

Now go to system settings and screens. Click on Ambient, and then edit, and choose the 1024x768.

it didn't set, just revert to that old setting, strange...had a similar issue with setting the clock but i had to try setting it in the pre boot img wizard and save it. might have to do it there?
