Amiga1200 connected to TV

Hi folks,
New to this site so a big hello to all ya out there! Question: I recently wanted to show of and connect me 1200 to the big tv, only to find out there is no picture!  Tried both three plugs, and scart, no screen with either, any ideas?

i use the amiga rgb > scart lead on my sony t.v.
i had to select/find the input signal, then tune in the t.v to find the wb screen,once saved, every time i switch on the amiga it automaticly switches the t.v to the right channel.

Is it an LCD TV?

The majority of LCD (and possibly plasma) TV's dont accept the standard Amiga scart output signal (picture is corrupted/distorted/never shown properly), which is a non-interlaced signal, the majority do recognise an interlaced signal but unless you can specify the softwares screen mode you will have the same problem.

They will recognise signal put out by the other 2 ports but the picture quality isnt the best.

Although you could be one of the lucky few who hae a TV that can accept non-interlaced pictures (unfortunatly I am not which makes me sad  :-(  )

 If you mind to hack your A1200, simply open it, and then make the following hack:

 Locate the CXA1145 (CXA1645 is an equivalent with the exactly same pinout) chip on the board, middle way of power connector and PCMCIA, put two wires (shielded ones are better) on pins luma (Y) and chroma (C) and route them to a S_VHS female connector. Ground must be taken from somewhere inside the case too (not from shield!). Remember to ground only one side the shielded cables to avoid parasite currents and ground loops (who will ruin the hack).

 OK, pure RGB gives a sharper picture, but S-VHS is way better than composite.

 You only needs the pinouts of the chip and S-VHS connector. And Google is your friend! ;-)

Nope just a regular widescreen philips tv, digital motion model, i tried also on a sony, but there also i had no luck. Pretty anoying really

I had terrible results with 3 RGB-->Scart cables even after using 3 different schematics with my LCD/TV.
With my normal TV all scart worked like a charm...

As Amiboy say many LCD/TV's show like crap (distorting or showing scrolling lines.

ATM I'm using DJBase's S-VHS adapter for native resolutions that works like a charm. Quality like RKauer said is so much superb than the plain Composite!

By the way its no plasma of lcd tv, its just a regular tv...

now i think of it, its a 100mhz tv,, might this be the problem

How can you tune a tv, when in scart mode???
