A4000 3.5" Floppy Drive Woes....
« on: June 30, 2008, 05:32:40 PM »
Hello,

I just renewed my old Amiga passions by recently getting a A4000 030 Desktop.  No acid damage and the first thing that I did was replace the ni-cad with a lithium battery and the clock now works great.

Only problem tho..... My Workbench 3.0 disks all read fine as do some other floppies but all the Workbench 3.1 floppies show up as NDOS but the show up fine using a external drive. I tried cleaning the drive with compressed air and a cleaner-floppy and a long q-tip with alcohol to no avail... still can't read 3.1 disks or any games.

Also, how much compatibility problems are there with the 4000 and older games?  None of my older games will run from either floppy!

Thanks in advance,
Tim :-)  :-)  :-)

Hi,

I'm in Washington State (Near Seattle).

Weird problem.... disks that won't read in internal drive work fine in external drive, other disk work fine in both drives... go figure...

Thanks,
Tim
