Hello all!

I'm fairly new to Amigas although I have been a Commodore man for most of my life.  But Amigas were always something that was out of reach for me until now.

Last year I started to get a little nostalgic and decided I wanted to relive an exciting time in my life by collecting the technology of my youth (www.erikschubach.com/vintage/).  It was great growing up in the time that home computers and gaming were just emerging.  I built my collection quickly, concentrating my efforts on the systems I owned as I grew up.  With the exception of a few dozen game titles, I completed my collection and amassed a few duplicates in order to get exactly what I needed about 2 months ago.  (I found it amazing how many systems I purchased from unscrupulous eBay sellers that I had to haul off to the dump.)
 
I was able to obtain for my collection...
 
1 - BOXED Timex Sinclair 1000 with accessories
1 - BOXED Commodore 64 with accessories
1 - BOXED Commodore SX-64 with accessories
1 - BOXED Vectrex with most boxed games (still looking for 3 boxed titles)
1 - BOXED TurboGrafx 16 (rare holiday edition)
1 - BOXED TurboExpress handheld
1 - BOXED (factory sealed) Milton Bradley Microvision with all of the games (factory sealed)
Various boxed accessories and game titles for all systems
 
Of course I'm still trying to re-learn how to use all of the old tech :-D It is amazing how much you forget in your old age.
 
I figured that I had come this far so I decided to concentrate on other systems that I had either played with years ago at my friends houses like Atari systems or that were just out of reach dreams like the Commodore Amiga series of computers.  So in the past couple months I started on my quest to build an entire Amiga lineup and so far have obtained...

1 - BOXED Amiga A500
1 - BOXED Amiga A600 HD
Various boxed accessories and game titles
 
I know virtually nothing about running the Amiga systems as I had never owned one before now, so it is quite a learning experience for me.  It is exciting to have these systems now as they were just a pipe dream for me when I was young.

I look forward to completing my collection and playing with my Amiga computers for many years to come.

You've come to the right place to learn about Amiga. My first question would be.... does that A600HD actually boot from the hard drive? If so it will make getting started a little easier having a system that's already running the basics.

Yes it does and it is a wonderful machine.  I just have to learn a little more about the system and I will be programming text adventure games in Basic before you can blink.  :-D

I won't forget, trust me I'm not one of those passive collectors, I see collecting as an interactive thing.  If you can't play with them, why have them?  I had to get an extra MB Microvision because the other one is factory sealed and I wanted to play with it so bad!  :-D

I take that as a challenge!  Soon grasshopper you will learn that the east side of the state (Spokane) is just as crazy as the west side!  :crazy:

I just wish there was still a Commodore User's Group over here.  :-D

Yep!  Actually they just built a brand new bridge along side the old one (Tacoma Narrows) So now we have two gerties!
