I use Anarchiver for creating archives, supports lha, lzx and zip.
Aminet: util/arc/AnArchiver.lha

I have been thinking about writing a program that would be like WinZIP or PowerArchiver for AmigaOS & MorphOS, but I'm not sure how many would support it, would you pay for such a product? If so, how much?

No, no... don't make it that much Windows-alike, that you ask money from that simple program :) Although I think there are already several options in Aminet and one even with os3.9, I think. Anyway I use arcdir in Opus when I want to look inside the archives or run something from it without unpacking.. and if I want to unpack whole archive, I just hit one key shortcut in Opus :)

An old program called LhAWin exists.. I had it a long time ago, but it was not very good. Better to use something like DOpus.
LhAWin seems to be located on this page however. I dont understand what the page says though, cause its in finnish.

An old Proggy called X-Arc was a windows style archiver for zip, lzx, lha and others via suitable plugins. Unfortunatly is was so slow and buggy it wasnt particuarly useful ;)

another calleed VoodooX for the XAD system looks nice, ,but unfortunalty unarc only.

so a suitable replacment combining the two would certainly be useful.

I used to use GUIARC about 10 years ago, but now I just use Dopus.

10 years ago??  :-o :-o

Geez, I'm getting OLD...

10 years and I went from Amiga OS 3.0 to 3.9... that's less than 0.1 a year

It's post 600, w00t!

I still use X-Arc.  It works like a champ here on all of my Amiga/Amigalike systems: (Amithlon, A1200+Mediator+Voodoo3, Pegasos).

I think only the demo is currently available now though :-/

Targhan
