I'd like some CD Rom Advice
« on: August 17, 2003, 12:06:22 AM »
I need some advice.......

I just picked up a SCSI CD Rom burner.

I see on Software Hut they have 2 prgs.
'Make CD' and 'Burn-IT'. They are both the same
price so thats not an issue.

Which is the best software??  Pros and Cons.

I've only used 'Nero' on my PC.

Melott, unless someone chimes in otherwise,
I'm pretty sure "Make CD" is the standard.

-edit-

Actually, maybe not...BurnIT seems to be a
good program as well...oh, well..nevermind :-)

There are demos of both programs on Aminet - try them both and choose which one you like best. They're both good.

MakeCD is generally accepted as having good features and more or less up to date, and as a great program.
Can't comment on BurnIt have never seen/ used it.

I've been wondering about this as well.

Do MakeCD or BurnIt support IDE CD-Writers?  (Via a Elbox 4xEIDE interface).  The docs for the Aminet demo of MakeCD seems to assume that SCSI is the only option for Amiga.

Though I'm planning to upgrade eventually,is a 030/50 A1200 enough to run one?  I need a new method of HDBackup now that my Zip Drive has died.
Amiga 1230/50 + 34MB  (OS3.5 + DOpus 5.82)

You could use a IDE burner with MakeCD. Read the review here:
