The number of Pegs out there is fixed and not going to increase until the Peg 2 is released. The A1s, on the other hand, continue to dribble out and eventually will overtake the Pegs in population.
According to Alan Redhouse, Eyetech has sold "significantly more" than the announced number of Pegasos boards. So if this is on the level, there are already more AmigaOne boards out there than Pegasoses. On the other hand, most Pegasos boards are actually being used, I would guess.
I predict that the numbers are going to change dramatically when OS4 is released.
I'd expect an uptick all right, but don't know how dramatic it will be. Many of the supporters have already bought or ordered AmigaOnes as a show of support and faith. True, some people have said they'll buy once AOS4 is ready, but I think this is a smaller number that the "already bought" number. (Just my hunch, of course.) For the sake of the Amiga product, I hope they can bring down the price somehow. But there's also the sticky problem of the promised rebates and apparently no money for them.
Pegasos 2 will also cause a surge on that side, of course, so I guess we'll see momentum swinging back and forth with product releases.
