@delshay

I think you have played your cards way wrong here, if i were you i would just kindly refuse the interesting cd offer and remind the kind gentleman who wanted to give me that gift. About company policy that does not allow us to take it as well as i dont really have any interest in it. But you went wrong were you went bananas ! 1st ran to supervisor and told him about it "as a supervisor for 70 people my self i would not know what to think if someone came running talking about something like that, it sure would not be positive". What i mean is that leading personell hate people that try to sell others out ! 2nd you ran away from work for 2 days ? Why ??? 3rd you contacted every media known to man        If your company finds out the last one with out any propper dicussion first you may as well say bye bye as you have broken two rules possibly 3 if they supect you of trying to get ridd of a co worker ....

Delshay, I'm curious to know... where did you lock yourself for 2 days and what did you do to pass the time for those 2 days? Who found you and how?

If a CD which may contain 'naked bodies' can send you into hiding how do you deal with everyday situations like:
-Newsagents that sell magazines and newspapers with naked bodies,
-TV,
-Summer time on the beach,
-Biology class when you were at school

Keep us posted on how you get in with this, hope you get the resolution you want.

I agree, Delshay's actions do seem somewhat bizzare :-?

Like Adonay said...I also would be a bit stuck for words if someone came to me with that sort of complaint at work...maybe not if it was a female who'd been offered pron by a male (not good), but a guy dobbing in another guy for offering him porn? I think my reaction would be to say "and?"

This reminds me of when I was at school.  A mate of mine had  Hollywood Strip Poker for the Amiga.  It certainly did the rounds getting passed around the playground.  Until it got to me and my mum caught me playing it and confiscated it!    :boohoo:

This entire post makes no sense. The other guy clearly wasn't trying to get anyone sacked - there are much easier ways than trying to give someone a CD.

have you not read my early post.

ANYTHING TO DO WITH PORNO IS A SACKABLE IF ON SITE,ITS NOT ALLOWED.

Then why did he not get sacked for having it?

Did you not read my earlier post - you haven't responded to a single point.

I think you are over-reacting a lot now, because we are not agreeing with every thing you've said. You do need to see the Doctor after having gone AWOL for 2 days. It's not a normal reaction at all.

Sorry to say this, but I really do think you are a little vunerable if you think that a) he was defo trying to get you sacked or b) he was just sharing the wealth and you reacted to either of these scenarrios by going AWOL for 2 days to think about it and calm down.

Seriously you need to get a bit of a grip on life mate.  I would imagine a lot of people have had people trying to get them sacked or in trouble, and a lot worse on a daily basis and dont go and hide under the bed for 2 says.

Seriously take your employers and everyones elses advies, go see a GP, your far to highly strung

Hi delshay,

Sorry to chime in pretty late on this one, but just wanted to share my thoughts.

I have some knowledge of this kind of case, and the common responses from organisations. You really must both get an understanding of your organisation's policies in such matters, and get proper counil in terms of legal, vocational, and health issues.

If you are certain that you are well, and are confident of your interpretation of events, then you could see your regular GP (someone who knows you would be best), and explain the situation to him/her. Have the GP write a detailed letter explaining his/her professional opinion. Make sure the letter is written in front of you, read the letter, and be sure to understand it fully.

I would not recommend that you seek stress leave, unless you feel you need it. Perhaps you do need it, as you seem highly strung at this time. Perhaps stress leave is the most feasible way to cover your two days of being AWOL.

Having an official record of stress related illness can be used against you. You can research this yourself if you are interested, though I am not sure such research would be in your best interest at this time.

I am pretty sure you have not followed procedure up until this point, and this will never work in your favour.

I think you also need to make your point of view fully understood by your supervisors. I really don't mean to be rude, but I think you may have some difficulty communicating with people using English. Your expression is not always very clear.

Also, I agree with previous posters, that someone was probably having a joke at your expense. I guess people wt work would know you as a fairly tense, and conservative type of person. Is that the case? Please understand that I do not intend that comment in a derogatory way, at all.

Good luck. I hope it works out for the best, for all involved.

Oliver

-edit
P.S. On a lighter note, my work also has a very strict porn policy. Anyone can be fired for keeping it to oneself.
Good good study, day day up!

Just a quick question about the CD.
Was it in a case? If not that would explain why he held it at the edge. You dont want to get the disc dirty or it may not work properly.

As for the events that took place.

Is this CD story a fake story that you are using to cover up what really happened? Is the CD this guys penis? did he lob it out and try to force you to touch it? That would cause me to lock myself away for 2 weeks.

I'm confused as to whats gone on.

As I understand it...

A guy comes up to you at work with a CD and wants to give it to you. He says "Hey heres some porn"

You refuse to take this CD and a few hours later go and report what happened to the boss.

Then you run away from work and go missing for 2 days.

When you are finally found work inform you that you will be suspended unless you provide them with a sick note which is probably to explain why you have been off for 2 days without contacting them.

You decide to phone the BBC and a load of paper.

It sounds a bit extreme to me. You don't even know if there was porn on the disc. He might have been joking and as you didn't take the disc of him and look at it I don't understand why you were so disturbed that you had to lock yourself up for 2 days.

QFT++

Every company I've ever worked for have had policies whereby if you're sick more then a day or so, you need a sick note, no ifs whys buts or maybes.

You refusing to go to said doc will end in only one way: You getting your cards. IE sacked. Why? Breach of company sick leave policy.

@Adonay lo bob! Long time matey! I still owe you a pint, RE your post, you're bang on the money I think.

At school we used to swap porn on floppy disks... There is nothing like a picture of a naked woman in good old lowres HAM-6... I say nothing like it, because It was often difficult to really make out what was going on with so few colours at such a low resolution... one's imagination was vital to the whole sock based operation...

-edit- ah yes... Is that pixel a nipple or a mole... Or maybe a HAM artifact...? :-D
