I agree, very strange story. Besides,I thought porn was a GOOD thing. Wish people at my work place would dish it out like that. It would probably make me want to go to work more, not less. ;-)

This entire post makes no sense. The other guy clearly wasn't trying to get anyone sacked - there are much easier ways than trying to give someone a CD.

Plus there are definite inconsistencies.

Quote

he held the porno cd by the edge as to not get his finger prints on it.

if i had take the CD he may have reported me.

OK, so the CD never changed hands.

Quote

i did not touch the cd as i did not want to get my finger prints on it.

he told me its a porno disc & i could see naked bodys pictures on the disc.

But you know what's on it?
Sorry, this is nonsense. Either:
a) You can somehow read CDs without touching them and putting them in the CD drive. Not terribly plausible.
b) You saw the CD contents because someone else fired it up in their computer. Not likely because in that case that person would be liable for firing, not you. Certainly the person who tried to give it to you wouldn't because of the risk involved. Or
c) The CD physically had naked bodies printed on the disc. Also not likely because then the person allegedly trying to get you fired would be majorly at risk. If you're trying to be surreptitious you don't label everything.

And what's all this nonsense about fingerprints? That's no evidence. In a place of work, all sorts of people touch things, doesn't mean anything. If you touch a CD of snuff kiddie porn it doesn't make you guilty of possession.

If someone was trying to get you fired in that way it'd be much simpler to stick the CD in your drive and then tell your boss. If you want to get someone in trouble, you don't first explain to your victim what you're doing.

Sounds to me more like all that happened was that someone knew you were a little... volatile, and decided to wind you up by getting a CD-R, and trying to give it to you saying it was porn. They probably even printed out a risqué label for full effect. I'd say that the fact that you went AWOL for two days and tried to call every newspaper (even the Economist??) probably explains why he did it.

Seriously, it's not healthy behaviour to disappear for two days because someone gave you a CD saying it has porn on. Even if they were trying to get you sacked, just go to your boss and explain what happened. That's all. But it sounds to me like someone was playing a joke on a vulnerable person (you) and you reacted exactly as they wanted.

My advice is to go see that doctor - if only to keep your employers happy. If you're innocent you have nothing to worry about. If you can, take a holiday. Go somewhere nice away from work and kick back for a while. Get away from stress and worries and chill out.

And most of all relax.

Exactly. So why would he put himself at so much risk by openly having a porn CD in his possession to give to you?

@spirantho

Exactly. So why would he put himself at so much risk by openly having a porn CD in his possession to give to you?

he knows the rules & thats a question only he can answer.

why bring it to work?

why try to pass it on?

why hold it by the edge?

why me?

what was he trying to gain by doing this?

i can go on but most of you can work it out for yourself.

Just because your paranoid, doesnt mean they are not out to get you.

You still have not answered to anyones satisfaction how you know there is porn on the CD.

This must be a joke of some sort. It just sounds too silly.

Delshay, you might wanna learn to quote other people as well. Makes reading your posts much easier. I don't know who's talking half the time...

Sorry to dive in at this point....but

@Tension...thats bang out of order...nuff said!

@delshay...you really need to talk this out with someone in the real world. Find anyone prepared to listen. Do you have a union rep?, if you not part of a union, there will be one present at your place of work still, they can put you in contact with someone, you employeer has a obligation under your terms and conditions to provide independant representative who can listen to your side of the facts and if you wish report them to your HR/Union etc.

You can seek independant advice from any Citizens Advice Bureau (see the net/phone book).

If you feel you are being placed unduly under any pressure by your employer (at all!) you can see any G.P and ask for a stress related Sickness Note due to this situation to allow you time to gather your thoughts about the situation.

No one has the right to judge you. No one has the right to fire you without a full displinary hearing unless they unrefutible evidence of gross misconduct and from what you describe, this is not the case.

You are not alone.! Take Care :)

Interesting thread...

Delshay, I'm curious to know... where did you lock yourself for 2 days and what did you do to pass the time for those 2 days?  Who found you and how?

If a CD which may contain 'naked bodies' can send you into hiding how do you deal with everyday situations like:
-Newsagents that sell magazines and newspapers with naked bodies,
-TV,
-Summer time on the beach,
-Biology class when you were at school

Keep us posted on how you get in with this, hope you get the resolution you want. :-)

@delshay

I think you have played your cards way wrong here, if i were you i would just kindly refuse the interesting cd offer and remind the kind gentleman who wanted to give me that gift. About company policy that does not allow us to take it as well as i dont really have any interest in it. But you went wrong were you went bananas ! 1st ran to supervisor and told him about it "as a supervisor for 70 people my self i would not know what to think if someone came running talking about something like that, it sure would not be positive". What i mean is that leading personell hate people that try to sell others out ! 2nd you ran away from work for 2 days ? Why ??? 3rd you contacted every media known to man        If your company finds out the last one with out any propper dicussion first you may as well say bye bye as you have broken two rules possibly 3 if they supect you of trying to get ridd of a co worker ....
