Plextor CDR drive on GVP Impact Series II 2000 HC+8
« on: May 31, 2008, 08:29:24 PM »
Well, today it's my day !

As you might have seen on the forum i tried some Linux distro on my A2000.

As Redhat 5.1 doesn't support my Buddha and it's IDE CDRW drive, i put a 12/20 Plextor CDR drive on GVP Impact Series II 2000 HC+8 (rom 4.15 by Tj) that already have a Compaq (Fugitsu) 9.6gb SCA-80 drive with a SCA to 68/50 pins converter that already works on ID0 and powered directly by the amiga PSU.

As linux find alone the peripheral, it didn't try to add it on the amiga side. But later i did with the FindDevice (from IDEFIX/97 that came with Buddha), and when it passed by gvpscsi.device, it lasts forever on it...

And it's the same with hdtoolbox with the gvpscsi.device parameter ...  :-o

With or without TERMITOR on CDR drive, it's the same...

i'm looking for tips...

Did you remove the termination on the HD?
Goodbye people.
