PC recorded CD-ROM
« on: May 28, 2008, 05:32:13 PM »
Is there a particular procedure to burn a CD-ROM on PC and make it readable on the Amiga OS3.9?

Thank you in advance

Mauro

Depends on your definition of "readable". If you just want to be able to read the files somehow, then as long as the disc uses ISO-9660 you will be fine.

You ideally want to burn it using Rock Ridge extensions... but I think AOS3.9 supports Joliet doesn't it?

Worst case you'll be able to read it but the filenames will be in 8.3 format. The only common CD-ROM format that you won't be able to read is Macintosh HFS, which you're unlikely to be burning on a PC!

Check out my shop! http://www.mutant-caterpillar.co.uk/shop/ - for 8-bit (and soon 16-bit) goodness!

I've burnt a DVD (data) last week (with Nero) but the A4000 wasn't able to read it.

This is the reason I asked for help here  :-)

You're right.

Readable: files I can read and copy from my ide dvd reader (mounted into the a4000).  ;-)
