Just got this hardware out of curiosity, would anyone know what would make the most of the hardware? I know very little about it.

I think that gives some more serial and parallel ports.

I had one of those in my 4000.  Made surfing the Internet on a 56k modem a much more bearable experience.

Hi,

could be used instead of an ethernet-board.
Use it for null-modem connection to a PC with ICS/Proxy at 230400 bit/s (~28kB/s) with less cpu usage.

Will it somehow work on a broardband connection?

Yes, but you'll need some kind of device to terminate the SLIP or PPP connection and then route your Amiga onto the Internet.  You should be able to dig up some articles from WAAAY back on how to do this.  I tried it with a Windows 98 machine acting as a DUN server, then later with Windows NT.  I had mediocre success and eventually went back to the 56k dial-up until I got hold of an X-Surf.

I'm very much a beginner on this sort of stuff and never heard of anything like "SLIP, PPP or even DUN" before. Do you know if the card works on other big box Amiga's? A2000, A3000?

The X-Surf works with all Zorro Amigas.
