Guess you are a "watchdog victim" - try the "TST" jumper in addition to "RESC", this should do the job. A new firmware is under test which will have a more simple way of dealing with situations in which a broken CPU card or broken ROM module makes the machine go wild (deactivate and activate FlashROM by Ctrl-A-A).

PIO or DMA is selected by device driver.

@boot_wb: Rescue mode always is Zorro II by default. The "ZII" jumper only works in normal operation, if "RESC" is set it will always win (and btw, due to jumper design you can either set "RESC" or "ZII", but not both at the same time).

If you have questions on any DENEB issue it is always best to mail me directly - as you can see here in this thread confusion is the result if several people are discussing with only some kind of "half knowledge", which will confuse other people searching for answers.

Erm, yes, another issue: please use mboehmere3bde for support contact, not the PMs here, as I don't have time to scan all my forum mail folders everyday.

Thanks, Michael

Did you set "RESC" and "TST" for installation?
If you get this requester you are in normal operation, and not the rescue mode.

Did you install the software from DenebInstall: in rescue mode?

If so, you are done. The requester is just one ROM module in the FlashROM which notifies you that there is some goodie in the FlashROM for you (namely the "Still Alive" demo from Eric Schwartz himself).
Just draw a copy of the original FlashROM contents with Luciferin, create an empty local list and upload it, then the FlashROM is empty and the requester gone.

If not, please set the "RESC" and "TST" jumper, start your Amiga, install the software from DenebInstall: (older V3.x versions won't work!), maybe draw a copy of DenebInstall: on your HDD and remove both jumpers (after powerdown) for normal operation.

i have to correct my previous statement. just this moment after step for step tests on another of my a4ks i clearly identified that mediator4000di busboard and not the mediator bridgeboard causes a problem with deneb dma driver that leads immediately to a system hangup. so maybe mediator busboards of whatever type might caus all sorts of problems with deneb. i will report it to e3b. otherwise pio modes are no problem on mediator systems i checked.

That did the trick. Thanks Michael. I installed everything from the Flash ROM. Now I'm on my own! 8-)

This one is new for me.

Anyone here working with Zorro III, DENEB and eFlash4000 here?
We have several mails from customer which reported severe problems, and we could also see them in our lab (with an eFlash4000 donated by one of the frustated customers).

If you are running such a configuration, be it with or without problems, please report by PM to mboehmere3bde , as I want to clarify this issue for our customers.
Your feedback may help us, as having more information from different system configuration usually helps tracking down such bugs.

Have you started Trident prefs, and added denebdmausb
device to the controller section?
After that press the online button and save your settings.

Lloyd

I started Trident prefs, I updated the controller section with denebdmausb.device but I don't have internet on Amiga yet so when I press the online button nothing happens. It gives me a message that failed. Any alternatives?

The online button does have nothing to do with internet.
It activates the poseidon USB stack.
What is the message precisely?

Lloyd

Try to use denebpiousb.device in the controllers
section.

I already tried this also. I got the same message. Are you sure that "Online" doesn't mean internet?
