take a look at where the large photo of the Amiga is located:
http://retrogeekcomputers.com/eBay/Amiga4000withKeyboard.jpg
I think that pretty much is a give-away for Doomy, right ??

EDIT: In the parent directory you can see more images, so you know what stuff to look out for as being Doomy stuff ;) http://retrogeekcomputers.com/eBay/

Hey Rich,

I'm always "here" but I don't always have anything to say.  Life sometimes is a little too busy to stop and spell the proses.

I swear this _exact same photo_ was in an ad on my local craigslist (salem.craigslist.org) with about the same specs and the same price about a month ago. What's this guy's deal anyway? Let us noobs in on it! :)

4MB 72-pin SIMMs are hard to find?  I have a gold mine here!

And he goes again with the "fair price" and bit about more boards would be a higher starting bid, etc. etc. etc.  Jumping Jesus on a Pogo Stick, how can we get rid of this guy?  I won't repeat myself, but my previous post about his similar auction STILL applies!  Amazing!

I still don't see the fascination with the guy.  I mean, all you're doing is helping him advertise his crap, but still.

Yes, he was, but I figure he has accomplices these days.  As far as these threads, I see them as PSAs for the n00bs

 Explaining Doomy's modus operandis:

He bought nicely expanded Amigas, clean it a bit, take out the good gear for himself, then ebay the meagre Amiga for an over quoted price, advertising bull***t to those poor persons who bought his "mint condition products".

If a naive user with a broken Amiga gear send him the goods, kiss goodbye! He bills the incautious, plus never, ever return anything.

 And other nasty habits.

Finishing: the guy is a total jerk!
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

Surely refusing to post the items until after the funds leave Paypal and go into his account breaks some regulation of ebay or Paypal. In Australia after May 21st All ebay customers must use Paypal, as commanded by ebay themselves. Reason? They say it's to protect the buyers. Never mind that the sellers are the ones who make money for ebay. That aside, if Paypal is there to protect the customer, and sellers like Doomy are bypassing that protection, then surely he is breaking their rules. I wonder what ebay and Paypal would say about his auctions?

"eBay has changed its feedback policies as of today. Sellers can no longer leave negative or neutral feedback for buyers. So sellers can't do "feedback blackmail" on buyers. But of course buyers can now do massive feedback blackmail on sellers.

But the real kicker is this: your feedback score now only covers the past 12 months. So take my case: eBay member for 11 years (since Feb 97), 340 positives, and one negative. In the last 12 months, I have 10 positives and 1 negative.

So this morning my feedback was 99.7%, but this evening when the change took effect my feedback dropped to 90.9%. "

Easy way to find out if it's Doomy....

Someone ask him a question: "Is this A4000 Military Spec? Would you recommend this or an A2000?". That'll tell us if it's Doomy....

Don't feel bad, it's probably a shill bid.

And this feedback change... I wonder if that's why my feedback suddenly jumped up by like 50 or so points.  Maybe they're counting multiples from the same people (didn't use it.)  This new policy is a bad idea...

I'm hoping it motivates sellers to treat buyers the way
sellers like being treated. I get tired of winning an auction or doing a Buy It Now, and then having to ask the seller whats going to happen next. There are some pretty decent sellers on eBay but you have to buy something to figure out who they are. Maybe this will motivate the
sellers that abuse the feedback system to stop taking
buyers for granted. I just don't think it's right to take
a persons money, then make them wait 3,4,5 days or more
to send them what they paid for.

I have to disagree. I'd much rather have a system where I can leave negative feedback for someone who screws me over than one where I _have to_ leave positive feedback or risk no one wanting to do business with me. I have some xeon servers lying around and might sell one or two on ebay soon to offset the cost of buying amiga stuff. I would hate to have people not bid on them because some loser who misrepresented something I bought decided to blast me in the feedback.

There have been several occasions when I bought on ebay and really wanted to leave negative feedback but didn't feel I could. Yesterday was the first time I've _ever_ left negative feedback (and it was deserved, honest, and impersonal, as it should be) and it only happened because of this new policy. I'm happy that other buyers will know to be cautious with the seller in question.

For any market to function properly, consumers need to be able to communicate freely with each other, and that's what the feedback system is for, now. It used to be for coercing people into providing a reference for sellers who bend the rules or misrepresent what they are selling.

I know that it may seem unfair to some people whose scores have fluctated wildly since yesterday, but I think that you will see the ratings stabilize and become much more useful after some time has passed. Also, people are (I hope) smart enough to actually read the feedback left and realize that one upset buyer does not make a bad seller. Anyone who sells enough is bound to have a negative or two, just by chance, but positive feedback left from now on will mean a lot more (to me, anyway) than it did before.
