Looking for 128MB 72 pin SIMM
« on: May 13, 2008, 05:40:43 AM »
There seems to be a ton of 64MB ones on ebay for dirt cheap, but no 128MB ones at all. I've got a Blizzard accelerator in my 1200 that takes 72 pin SIMMs of up to 128MB. I've got a 32MB in it now, and I'd like to max it out if possible. Anyone know where I can find one cheap, before I just give up and get a 64MB?

Found one here.

How about two 128MB SIMMs for $14.95?

The ones AmigaKit sells are pretty thick SIMMs with large chips on both sides. The Blizzard 1230 has a SIMM slot that isn't angled so theres not really much room... really needs a SIMM with chips all on one side, or at least thin chips.

I've got a 1230IV and I wouldn't mind 2x 128MB, one for the board and one for a future SCSI expansion. The best I could find for sale from normal computer stores here in the UK was 32MB EDO's from Clinton Computing, I think. Their website listed them all the way up to 128MB, but as is the case with many websites, that was a long time ago.

Hodgkinson.
Main A1200D: WB3.0, 3.1 ROMs, 2GB HDD, Blizzard 1230IV (64MB RAM + FPU) and a whole load of custom heatsinks... :flame:

I've never actually seen the SCSI add-on for this accelerator. Would be nice though!

64MB SIMMs that will fit are quite common on ebay.

Hmm... the only thing I'd really need the SCSI for would be to have an external CDROM rather than having to transfer stuff using Compact Flash, and for the extra RAM, so I'll probably have to pass. I might be willing to pay $100-125 or even the $129 you have, but seeing as it's on ebay and thats the START bid, I'm sure it'll quickly go to someone who needs it more than me and is willing to pay more. I found a dirt cheap 64MB SIMM that I put on there so my Amiga has twice as much RAM now as it did yesterday. I think I'll just keep looking around for a 128MB SIMM.

And I'll watch your SCSI kit auction, if nobody else goes for it maybe I can convince myself to buy it haha. I actually got 2 of the 64MB SIMMs so I suppose I'd have 128MB then...

Does anyone know if single sided 128 MB SIMMs were ever made? I've been having a hard time locating them. All I find is double sided SIMMs which, unfortunately do not fit into my Viper.  :-(
