RGB to VGA adapter
« on: May 12, 2008, 04:25:08 AM »
Hello all, wow it's so had to find a regular monitor for my Amiga 2500.  Do you know if those adapter (RGB to VGA) would work on my Amiga 2500?  I have seen a few on e-bay but am not sure if they would work and they seem a little expensive.  Please let me know.  And if any of you happen to be selling one, please also let me know.  Thanks

Also, I have a 1902A but no cable to hook up properly and what I do have via an A520 looks terrible.  Thanks again

An RGB to VGA adapter will work on any Amiga, but it's useless unless you have a true multisync monitor - one that can support 15KHz resolutions. Most (virtually all)  don't.

Centsible Software lists Amiga monitor leads on eBay pretty often, though not specifically marked for a 1902. Centsible's reputation is mixed, so heads up if you decide to buy from them.

A 1902A only has RGBI and composite inputs not analog RGB.

You can use it with an Amiga, but you'll only get 16 colours if you use the RGBI inputs.

There was a thread here at A.Org a couple weeks ago
about someone building scan doublers to work with all
Amigas, and the price sounded good.
You might check on one of those, it would be the best
solution.
