Hello @ all,

I am about to install the Xilinx ISE Webpack V10.1.
The software can not be installed.
downloaded directly from http://www.xilinx.com/ with a valid "Registration ID" but in the next step I can not select the ISE WebPACK to be installed, it is grey.
what I have to do...?
Im using WinXP SP2 on a AMD64-X2 machine. The same Problem is in Linux (Debian SID). Seems to be a common problem?

Thx for help and regards

Thank you, I will try.
Until now I only found mxe_3_6.3c.zip to download, if its not V8.2i where can I find it?

When I follow a google search link, the only thing to find is 10.1 by logging in with my account.

Or am I just to stupid to see...?

MXE is the Mentor Graphics ModelSim Xilinx Edition simulation. They have changed the system a tad, when I logged in after a long time, it had me update my details and asked me what products I want. It then had me download an online installation tool and that was that.

OK I never had an older version, it started with 10.1.
this version accept the Registration ID and in the next step I should be able to select a product for installation.
the only thing to "select" is "ISE WebPACK" and its grey, unselectable.
also is the "Next" button and I can not install anything. even not with this web-install/updater you pointed out.

I dont want to give up, as it is written by Dennis on the minimig board ;-)

Problem is located! This software needs WinXP Updates (not only SP2) or a Windows Vista.

Now its working... at least the installation ;)
perhaps after that its possible for me to compile/translate my own minimig1.bin core file.

Thx for your help

OK this software is working and I started a test to recompile the minimig core. Compiling is also working fine and finished without errors.

But how to export or store the new "minimig1.bin" as a file??
"Save as" and "Save project as" will only store the code and some other stuff on disk.
What I have to do??
Sorry again for annoying here with that stuff. This is complex software to me.
Once working I am glad to improve the minimig as well!

Look for some file named *.bin in your project directory.

Now after many attempts to create my own minimig1.bin, I have to ask again how to proceed in Xilinx ISE.

I can list what I did, maybe there is a simple error in reasoning.

1. Open a new project
2. add/load all the source code (.v files are listed in left box and right is the actually source printed/changeable.)
3. choose Options > Implement Top Module - (if even necessary?)
4. wait until finished...
5. choose "Save Project As..." and "Save As" to be sure its saved.
6. cant find minimig1.bin or *.bin file in my project folder.

When I miss or forgotten one step, please tell me what it was.
I really wish to join and add my ideas to this project.
Maybe this software is just a bit too complex for an old asm-pro coder on Amiga ;-)

Thanks
