Error creating a mount file for a CF card
« on: May 01, 2008, 03:47:09 PM »
Hi folks,

this is a new (S/W)thread arising out of a project to install a CF card via an Tandem IDE I/F on a A4000 DT running OS3.5. The main H/W thread is in the H/W forum.

problem using giggledisk to create a mount file for a CF card identified by IDEFix97 "FindDevice" as :-

SoftSCSDI_ATE9.device

Using the following sytax (thanks to Moto):-

 giggledisk SoftSCSI_ATE9.device 0 TO Ram:

This gives a report:-

Giggledisk: Unable to read block 15 (Size: 0x200)!

Anyone any ideas what all this means, apart from the fact that I can't mount the CF card.

cheers, Ian

Why don't you take the compact flash driver for pcmcia and modify the CF0: device ?  ;-)

Hi CLS2086,

Sorry I might have confused you with my terminology,

its not the mount list for CF0 that is the problem it is the exec. file (or driver) for the device SoftSCSI_ATE9.device.

If I'm not right about this let me know,

cheers, Ian
