AfA OS users.
« on: April 29, 2008, 10:55:04 PM »
After seeing a few pictures of desktops using the PNG icons I took a little time out during office hours to have a little read up. Getting paid to read Amiga related stuff sure is a nice job to have  :-D

Anyway, I'm thinking of messing around with AfA and was wondering how the speed of the system would be while runnin it. My A4000 has a warpengine 40MHz with about 92 meg fast ram all in and a CV64 3D.  I take it you can still use normal OS 3.9 icons at the same time?

Thanks,

Robert

AfaOS is intended to show PNG icons. Other kind of icon sets are OK, but probably sucks compared to the alpha-channel ones.
Goodbye people.

I\'ll pop on from time to time, RL is acting up.

You can use PNG icons and glowicons at the same time
if you want to. As for the speed, I use it on my a4000/060
with PIV and the speed is pretty good. In fact, I think
it's faster than running the combination of
birdie/visualprefs/powericons/iconbefast.

Lloyd

I'll play about with it and see how it goes.

Thanks for the replies.
