FA: Bougs claims on CD drive
« on: April 27, 2008, 06:50:59 PM »
Long link

Please review the above ad. From what I gather there is no way this will work with an A1200 or A600. Has anyone seen drivers for this?

Also the ad posting and format, paymenyt terms, laughable shipping terms... looks the to be the same layout and non friendly writting of a guy that sold me a busted power supply and closed up shop.

Why does ebay allow the same person to keep doing business over and over?

Moderator edit: reason - Long link

He sounds like a bit of a arse clown to me. His shipping terms are ludicrous. The whole reason for Pay Pal holding the funds is to protect the buyer. By not shipping until after the 21 day period, he's bypassing the very protection that Pay Pal offers the buyer. There are some real sharks on eBay.
A500, A600, A1200, A2000, A4000D, A4000T, CD32

I doubt this CD-Rom would work on an Amiga.

That said, it sounds like the seller may have been burned before. The eBay account looks solid, registered since 2000 and 100% positive feedback, though only a net 27. I wouldn't agree to the terms though

Yep, that definitely sounds like MC Campbell. And I highly doubt there are any Amiga drivers for that device.

The prose reeks of Doomy's "unique" linguistic style. It's getting harder to spot him, though. Seems he finally learned to stop putting Beaverton or Oregon as his location, as that was a dead giveaway. The spotless account is especially suspicious. Probably hijacked from someone he convinced to give him the password.

Stupid thing is, if its the model of Sony cdrom i think it is (only one model of sony cdrom will boot the mini c1 series vaio's) then he'd of got more money listing it properly rather than trying to rip people off with a cdrom that will never work on a amiga unless someone writes a driver for the interface card.

I thought he had an A1200, he should have been able to try it out first.

Actually it is that guy, the fellow that sold me the power supply had the same whack and shipping terms and yes it was the Campbell name, from Oregon.

After the auction he cancelled his account he posted a picture in his about seller page of himself smirking.

It looks like the schmendrick singing the only Amiga song posted here afew days ago.

Anyway to permanently ban him from ebay?

I would say it is Dommy for sure it fits his style! if you look at the feedback there is a picture of the guy and it isn't Doomy. I would guess he hi-jacked someones account which if that is the case I'm sure it is against Ebay policy.

I also found another LINK to a 4000 he has been trying to sell on Ebay for quite some time and also on Craigslist.
