4000 expansion cards not recognized
« on: April 24, 2008, 05:17:58 PM »
I got my new Prometheus board in today and it doesnt look like the Board Diagnostics menu is recognizing it.  Tried 3 of the 4 zorro slots and still nothing.  I tried it with and without my Voodoo and ethernet cards.  Any advice?

power connector not seated completely would be first choice for me.

The design is a bit crap.

Verify orientation of the power connector and verify the card is seated properly.

Make sure you are using the latest diagnostic software as some older revisions will not work with the latest firmware.

BTW: prometheus is not crap my any stretch of the imagination.

Goodluck.

The power is seated properly.  Need to find my multimeter..  I'm using the Expansion Board Diagnostics under the Early Startup screen, and its not showing up under there or ShowConfig.

(BTW: prometheus is not crap my any stretch of the imagination. )

i meant the power connector not the actual board.. I have one and it works well, The power connector has been modified though for a better fit.

My tower is in bits at the moment.. but i recall there is a prometheus diagnostic program on the cd or maybe i downloaded it.

Multimeter says its getting proper voltage and I have tried PromInfo and it says theres no working prometheus board found.  I know the zorro slots used to work with a Toaster and Flyer setup.  Possible that my daughterboard could be fried?

Tried an old Trumpcard Pro in there and it isnt being found either, so it sounds like its a zorro problem.  Any way to determine if its my daughter board or Buster.

Yeah, does sound like a problem with the Amiga itself :-/ Maybe try removing the daughter board and cleaning the contacts :-?
