Hm, but someone else thought along the same lines as I did

Well, maybe I'll have some spare time to make a decent GUI based program of it, which also supports serial.

Actually, a command line Amiga Explorer linux port already exists: lxamiga
Unlike the previous mentioned, this one can also use the serial port. I already used it with a USB to serial converter.
