WTB A3000 motherboard
« on: April 09, 2008, 09:41:56 PM »
My recently purchased A3000 arrived with a leaking battery.
The somewhat damaged board has resulted in a dead right mouse button  :-(
So looking for a clean motherboard preferably late rev.
I am located in USA.
Many mahalos.
MacBook Pro 17" 2.33GHz, e-uae, WB3.9.

Does anyone out there have any ideas where I can find a motherboard? My poor 3000 is sitting here in all it's beauty with a broken heart  :-(
I've done all the internet searches to no avail.
Are there any repair shops or old Amiga stores that I might have missed?
Any help would very much appreciated.
Seems like 3000 MB's are not as available as other types.
I will send one of my signed serigraphs to the person who puts me on the trail to a purchase as reward. (designed on an Amiga of course!)  :-D

Pull your Denise chip and clean up the pins and socket connections. If the socket cups disintegrate (as some on mine did) remove the socket and either put in a replacement socket or do what I did, which is solder the denise right to the board. If you still have problems you can patch in by soldering some signal wire to the appropriate spot to the leg of the denise.

Many mahalos!
I did pull the Denise and as you said a couple of the socket cups disintegrated plus one of the pins broke off the Denise.
But if you look at the pics of the board I'd say it is probably all done in.
Although it is working fine using right Alt/Amiga

if you don't mind me asking where were you able to find one.  I have pretty much the same problem with a lot of damage on my A3000 motherboard.  I have been looking for over a year and still haven't found a replacement.

Thanks,
MK  :-D

A member of amiga.org found one for me and was real pal getting the whole thing together for me  :-D
I was also coming up short finding one. Seems like ther are plenty of other types around but very few 3000's. However check out this ebay auction, could be what you are looking for.

Or also on eBay, Centsible Software (CentsiSoft or what ever) lists A3000 motherboards from time to time. They are cheap, and sold "as is". I have bought other items from these people with good results, but I can not say first hand about these. It may be worth a try though...

A2000 GVP 40MHz \'030, 21Mb RAM SD/FF, 2 floppies, internal CD-ROM drive, micromys v3 w/laser mouse
A1000 Microbotics Starboard II w/2Mb 1080, & external floppy (AIRdrive)
C-128 w/1571, 1750, & Final Cartridge III+

Yeh I asked them about 3000 boards but he had sold all of the ones he was aware of. He did say that he still had many unopened boxes of gear yet to go through.
But then you came to my rescue
