When I first towered my A1200 I had big problems with the floppy drive. Similar problems to yours. Turned out I had screwed it in too tightly! Some of the mechanism of Amiga floppy drives is exposed underneath the drive, so screwing it in too tightly might "brake" it against the tower. So try loosening the screws a bit and see if that fixes it. Better yet take the drive out of the tower (but leave the cables connected) and try it again. Also, double check the cables are all in the correct way round.

I had this problem too and it's very frustrating as it's not made clear in the Mediator book.

You have to have a switch fitted to the Mediator as well as plugging it in. use your ATX power supply but buy and fit a switch too.

I recommend AmigaKit.

I found an old At psu and solved it the power problem. I've used the disk drive from my A600 and the disk drive is running now. not sure why my other drives stopped working during the move to the tower.
