AmigaOne mailing list help
« on: August 07, 2003, 08:10:54 PM »
I've been trying to get on the AmigaOne mailing list for over a month and a half. My dealer, Mr. Hardware, tells me that he's posted my email address and that of his associate several times but neither one of us has gotten on. I received my XE-G4 board in May. My email address is lowvid@worldnet.att.net. Can anyone on the mailing list contact the list administrator regarding this problem?

Presumably you mean the 'dev list'?  If so I don't have an answer to your question :-)

Lou is the President of Queens Amiga user group and was one of the first A1 Xe G4 owners in North America. The poor guy has been trying to get on the A1 dev closed mailing list for MONTHS.  Will Someone please help him get on this list so he can enjoy his A1? There is not a lot of info about the Amiga one out there so it is very frustrating for him for sure. Any help for this die hard Amigan is appreciated.
TIA

Just don't contact me. I'm trying to shut my list down (or rather down-ish, as I'm REALLY trying to focus more on development rather than user questions about Linux )

a1g3dev is NOT the right place for users from now on, it's just that Eyetech aren't very good at taking hints :-(

Very nice of you Targhan!

Its sad indeed that people who paid BIG $$$ for the Amiga ONE with No Amiga OS Months in advance get ZERO Support from Eyetech or their Dealers..
Boy spending $1000 on a PPC Linux box Suxx...
Being an Amiga person and being forced to use Linux Suxx even more!

If there is anyone in the Amiga Inc/Hyperion/Eyetech consortium who can help it would be a good show of faith and support for them...

ps.. You should have bought a Pegasos! :)

It appears that many users were automatically added to the
Dev Forum... However of late that seems to  have changed.

Another new Forum started ( JULY 21") and that is a Yahoo
Group Forum on the A1 and Linux...

I haven't been added to that yet and it has been a couple of days
since I requested membership..

Have been on A1g3dev for 6-7 months.

BTW, I am typing this on my G4...

Obviously, if you're using Yahoo it's not the easiest thing, but any chance the archives could be mirrored around somewhere, even if you still have to be a Paying Customer to gain access?

Sounds like the info is a good support resource, but it's understandable that you'd want to keep the S/N high.

I suggest contacting Eyetech or Allen Redhouse specifically.

There is a new Yahoo group (closed) for this very purpose. say nice things to anarchic_teapot (AKA Rose Humphrey) if you want in.

Hi Lou

There will be a official AmigaOne forum at the AmigaWorld site. Seems it's not open yet, but you could register with Eyetech so you are ready WHEN it opens.

http://amigaworld.net/modules/newbb/

There are also an active forum for A1 and Linux, you might want to ask your questions there.

Good luck... :)
