Hey there.
« on: March 28, 2008, 03:12:39 AM »
Hey everyone, I heard about amiga.org before but never really registered till now.  I used to be a proud owner of a Commodore 64 in the early 90s and by late 99 was also a proud owner of an Amiga CD32 with SX32 Pro Module.  Had fun doing scala presentations and such as a hobby.  Then unfortunately sold it later around 2001. Fast forward to the present and I was able to buy myself another CD32, although I know for sure it's going to be very hard to try and find an SX32 or SX1 for that matter lol.  But in any case, it's great to be a part of this community once again. =)

G'day endcli. Nice nick :-D

Have you thought about just buying an Amiga 1200 and expanding that, rather than going the CD32 & SX32 route? It would be a good deal cheaper I'd suggest, and a CD32 is basically an Amiga 1200 anyway. Every SX32 module I've ever seen for sale goes for insane prices. Much like those Toastscan Scan Doubler/Flicker Fixers.

I added a CD-ROM drive to my 1200 via the AT interface and pretty much turned it into a CD32. I haven't come across any CD32 games I couldn't play on it. Of course it's still nice to have an actual CD32.

BTW, welcome to the forum. :-)

You know, I was thinking about that after I had bought my CD32 and did some searching around for the SX-1 or SX-32, and you're totally right lol.  Not that I regret buying my new CD32, always loved that system, so hopefully I can find a good 1200 set up on ebay or craigslist.  Thanks for the advice!  :-D
