The difference between a 603e and a 603e+ is only the SCSI-II controller. The 603e is missing the SCSI controller, and the board can't be upgraded, so if you use SCSI devices you must buy a 603e+ board.

Oh, and is it combatible with a mediator board? -As far as I can see It's plugged in the same place as my 1260Blizzard...

It's just a question of free space above the slot where you install the board. I have a RBM tower, and there are no problems inserting the board there, but then again, it's a hight tower...

If you have the Mediator and a Blizzard1260 already it shouldn't be a problem

i have mediator with bppc ...

anyway, yes they are hard to find...sadly...
and even harder to find new ones, if you did..dont spread the word until u have got yours into the house....just a tip

anyway they went out of production in 2000 ..or 1999 ... phase5 died and dce took over..

also.. cyberstormppc is for a3000 also

there is alot of stuff to talk about here but seriously ...you should ask instead of us rambling away..

a last addition is, not alot of software was available for ppc until 1999, hence why i guess they dropped it at dce + they costed too much to make...

but now its fun enough and the wos and pup stuff is ok enough while we wait for os4 and mos for bppc/csppc...  (if they ever come)

also i have a rbm towerhawk... , doesnt have room for mediator...u need to hack it alot if u have one of theese..

if u need to buy a new tower...either find a pc one who can host a long mobo as the a1200 or get an elbox tower.
