My wife just looks at the ton of Amiga equipment and says "wow, you sure have a lot of cool stuff".  Last night I got her to sit down and start playing a few games while she watched a VHS movie on the adjacent 1084 sitting atop the VCR that is used to display DCTV images, animations and paint program, so I don't have to switch the A500's other 1084's display from RGB to Composite and back while running DCTV.

She watched while I went through drawers to find different games for her and again said "wow, I didn't know your old computers were so fast"  I then explained that the 030/40mHz Amiga was running about 100 times slower than her laptop, but Windows was the problem.  She was impressed and wants to learn more about my Amigas.  Am I the luckiest husband on the planet or what? :-D
How are you helping the Amiga community? :)

It really is like falling in love with a woman or a football club: You cannot explain it rationally and still you can... sort of.

I love the Amiga, cause it's different, special, better, superior in any way as I am superior to PeeCee-Users. ;-)

That's unfair!  :boohoo:

I knew about the Amiga, but at home we already had a PC (with a 386 and VGA, badass back in 1988). It was not my choice, and neither my parents', because it was a PC from my dad's work. He allowed me to play games on it. Games, despite even being VGA, which were inferior to the Amiga equals. I saved money and bought a sound card to get something like an Amiga myself. But all along I wanted an Amiga. The whole vibe, I loved house music and it was being made on the Amiga, I loved games and it was best being played on the Amiga, I loved it all, but I was not an Amigan
I've got a lot to compensate :-D

That you are although my own wife is starting to become more mellow in regards to my Amiga's.....

I love Amiga's because they bring me back to a time where things where simpler, a time where playablity was more important then flash graphics and where you played for hrs, days, weeks to finish a game (not the 30 mins of play time and bordom that follows now days)(not to say that the graphics of the Amiga was low for their time). So many dam fine games that have no other competion on any other system.

I loved its multitasking OS and how little resourses it used. I love DOpus....  :-D

I love the way you can tinker with it.

I love it becuase it's not winc**p.  :-D

Amiga is way cooler than a PC/MAC,
and not evil.

It sucks away all my money and free time. Makes me frustrated by suddenly not doing what I want it to anymore and refusing to say why. Sometimes it just defies all logic - you know it should work, but it just doesn't!

Hmm, sounds kind of familiar...

But seriously, it's an obsession. When it works, it works really well.
I love the fact that I can take a motherboard which was built in 1990, add a few (albeit very expensive) components, some kickass software which installs from a double density floppy disk (sometimes two or three!) and all of a sudden I can surf the internet, view my desktop in 24-bit, write CDs (better than most PC software can), network to my PC, attach USB devices, modify photos, produce documents, use maths utilites, produce spreadsheets, etc, etc, etc. All that and a gazillion classic games to play too!

If only I could convince my employers to install an Amiga network instead of the current Windows one...
Mac Mini G4 (1.5GHz, 64MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.6
Powerbook 5.8 (15", 1.67GHz, 128MB VRam, 1GB Ram): MorphOS 3.8.

Windows-free since 2011-2014 (Damn you Netflix!)

Because Amiga OS is unbeatable in aspects of usability and speed.
Because my father bought an A500 insted of a car back in 1987.
I grew up with them, i can't live without them. :-)

Btw, this is my first post on Amiga.org, so i wish to say
"Hello everyone!".
Although i'm not new to Amiga.org, i were just passive.

The problem is with PC/MAC battles is that both of them are rival siblings in Mainstream media, both have monopolies in their own markets: OSs and music players. Perfect Example is the Apple commercials PC guy vs. Mac Guy. It seems that Apple and Microsoft are somewhat alike now, even if you don't look at market share pies.
I just think that Windows and Mac interfaces are getting too cutesy and The Amiga and Morph OS always maintained this hardcore Workbench(like) interface without going too aquaish. Yes, OS4 screenshots have that Aqua-like interface, but it doesn't compare to Win/Mac.

I just hope that Amiga releases a desktop machine based on PPC or at least x86 and have OS 4 running on it.
I still prefer the look of Workbench over Explorer/Finder.

I love Amiga because it's inherently cool.  The first time I ever saw the "insert workbench" screen at the beginning I fell in love.

There are so many reasons it's silly to name them all but chief among them are:

I love how it's so zippy, how the games look and feel, and the sounds it makes (clicking disk drive anyone).  Yeah, I'm sure a lot of it is nostalgia but they are just awesome computers.
