BPPC No Need!
« on: March 12, 2008, 08:46:40 PM »
Right i'm sitting here with my Amiga setup and really dont do alot with it these days, and I always have the intentions to do something with it!  but after a day at work I can't be bothered doing anything with it. Most of the things I do with it are gaming and ppaint and amikit covers that and most of the PPC games I play I own for the PC so I'm planning on selling my BPPC 240/060 due to it just sitting not getting used and because os4 has been released I have little to no interest in it, I dont need the PPC and if I miss it I always have my 160/060 bppc in the loft. I bought the 240/060 for $600/£296 from x56h34But I'm not to sure on what to ask for the card its a bppc 240/060 SCSI 144 meg ram with removable 060 and socketed crystal with a 66mhz fitted, but I'm missing the scsi lead and connector, I'm not interested in the overinflated prices from ebay so what do you guys think a decent price would be to a fellow amigian?

You'd probably get a quick sale for $500 here, just a guess. You could always put it on eBay, it would sell for sure and you may just hit the lottery.

Thanks redrumloa,

Due to the PM's I'm getting, I thought I'd just slap a generic reply in here :-)  If do plan to get rid of the BPPC I would preffer someone in the UK to purchase it due to royal mails stupid pricing.

Is the difference in performance noticable between a 160 and a 240mhz BPPC?

Thats a very subjective question.

In games 1 or 2 fps

In other things, like RC-72 key decoding then a lot

How about video playback or mpeg encoding then for instance?

I overclocked my 175mhz 603e to 192mhz.

Stuttery VCD playback in AMP2 became smooth playback.

That's interesting.
Have a 160mhz and have considered bidding on a 240mhz on several occasions.

why not sell the 160mhz one

The 160mhz one i bought from my mate and offered him first offers on it, since he got the card autographed by someone from Amiga world (cant remeber the guys name but it means nothing to me)

I dont think i'll mind getting shot of it, moneys not an issue but its just not getting used basically all i'm using is the 060 and the memory. Most of the games i use the PPC for are quake 2,nightlong and payback which I have the first 2 for the PC and payback for mac and the gp2x.

And I'm more into the classic games like dizzy and turrican that dont require alot.
